The Colt 1862 Army model differs mainly from the Colt 1851 by the carcass / barrel connection which also serves as a guide to the rammer and from the model 1860 by its lighter barrel thanks to milling between the chambers. Subsequently, this revolver was much appreciated by cowboys for its reliability and low weight.
