The 50 caliber BMG (Browning Machine Gun) was initially developed for aviation which required the use of powerful machine guns. These weapons were then used on armored vehicles as a support weapon offering significant firepower. Precision rifles were then developed around the 12.7x99 mm ammunition, for anti-materiel use. These long weapons were intended for the destruction of equipment with light shielding. Its precision also allowed it to carry out anti-personnel fire on outdoor theaters of operation at impressive distances. In view of the shooting distances practiced and the significant flight time of the bullet, many shooting parameters had to be taken into consideration. Wind, distance, atmospheric pressure, humidity and the coriolis force.
