The Fabbrica di Armi Pietro Beretta is one of the oldest Italian arms manufacturing companies. Located in the province of Brescia, the company was established in 1526 when Mastro Bartolomeo Beretta received 296 ducats in payment for 185 arquebus guns sold to the arsenal in Venice. The original purchase order is still preserved today in the company's archives. Beretta is known for the wide selection of manufactured products that range from shotguns to assault rifles. The brand's emblematic model is the Beretta 92 FS, which entered production in its first version in 1976 and, firstly, adopted in 1985 by the American army, then later by many armies around the world under various designations.
