(1861-1865) Another "Short Rifle" from the manufacturer Enfield addressed to the cavalry corps and extremely practical due to the short barrel length. Weapon very appreciated by the Confederates and given in preference to snipers.
The barrel is adjusted to the stock by two steel bands and it is always equipped with the right rear sight
with a slider mounted on a base with steps.
With the exception of the nasturtiums, the fittings are made of brass.
The tip of the stick is formed with the characteristic tooth slot.
In front of the trigger guard is a hook with a ring. The butt is walnut.
The British military rifle Enfield Pattern 1853 is a rifle musket (black powder rifle, single shot, loading by the mouth, rifled barrel and fired by capsules of mercury fulminate) produced by the Royal Arsenal of Enfield (and industrial subcontractors) between 1853 and 1867.
This model, also known as Enfield Pattern 1853 Rifle-Musket, Pattern 1853 Enfield, P53 Enfield, and Enfield Rifle-Musket is, like the rifles fitted to several powers of the time, a derivative of the French Minié rifle of 1850. It replaces the famous Brown Bess musket and will be transformed into a breech-loading Snider-Enfield rifle.
English historical weapon replica: enfield 3 band pattern 1853 rifle musket.
