This type of black powder revolver, 6 shots in the parlance of westerns, is an ideal over-the-counter weapon for learning sport shooting.
The Colt 1851 Navy Rebnord Carbine model was used by Confederate (Southerner) troops during the Civil War. Subsequently, this revolver was very appreciated by sport shooters and even some hunters.
Reloading requires loose black powder, wads, lead bullets, and primers.
