A reinforced spring to replace the original part

Waldo Dynamics Ion nozzle springs were developed as a more durable alternative to the springs originally fitted to various VFC GBB replicas. This small part is subjected to significant stress with each cycle and may require replacement after repeated use.

Waldo Dynamics therefore worked on several prototypes to improve durability without falling into the trap of an excessively powerful spring. The objective remains simple: to maintain the mechanical function intended by the original design while increasing the reliability of this wear part.

Set to 115% for a more direct feedback

The Ion spring has a spring rate of 115% . The increase is intentionally moderate in order to obtain a cleaner nozzle return without radically altering the behavior of the mechanism.

In practice, this design provides responsive operation while maintaining close to the desired mechanical balance on compatible platforms. The manufacturer specifically recommends pairing it with their Crimson GBB Hop-Up Bucking , whose airtight seal complements the work done on the nozzle cycle.

Steel construction and durable finish

Durability was one of the main objectives of the development. The spring is therefore made of steel and receives a distinctive finish allowing easy identification of Waldo Dynamics parts.

This coloring process is not based on a simple coating that could flake off: according to the manufacturer, the technology used bonds the color directly to the steel at an atomic level. The finish thus remains integral to the material while giving the spring its characteristic appearance.

Two springs in each bag

Each pack contains 2 Ion springs . This is convenient during maintenance: the second can remain in the toolbox as a spare or be used immediately to equip a second compatible replica.

To further simplify the process, these springs can also be used with the Waldo Dynamics VFC Quick Change Nozzle Spring Plug . This plug was developed to facilitate future spring changes and avoid the need to systematically remove the original VFC plug, which is known to be particularly stubborn.
