Waldo Dynamics develops upgrade parts and maintenance products specifically for airsoft . The Perfect range meets the common maintenance needs of GBB, GBBR, and AEG replicas with lubricants designed for the mechanisms and materials found on these platforms.
The Crimson Waldo Dynamics GBB 65° hop-up bucking combines 65° NBR rubber with a two-point support and a reinforced inlet to limit over-chambering. Suitable for BBs weighing 0.28 to 0.40 g, it promotes more consistent BB positioning and a more predictable trajectory.
The Waldo Dynamics Crimson GBB 65° hop-up bucking was developed as a versatile version of the Crimson range. Its 65° hardness is particularly suited to BBs weighing between 0.28 and 0.40 g and allows it to function on a wide variety of compatible GBB and GBBR pistols.
However, its design is not limited to the choice of hardness. The entry profile and patch geometry were worked on for over a year to influence the BB's positioning even before the hop-up effect is applied.
On some GBBRs , the mass and speed of the moving parts can push the BB slightly too far into the hop-up bucking during the cycle. This phenomenon, called over-chambering , results in a less consistent BB position relative to the hop-up's contact area.
The Crimson uses a thicker, more resistant initial inlet for this purpose. It offers more resistance to the passage of the BB in order to limit its excessive movement under the action of the nozzle and to promote more repeatable positioning before each shot.
The internal patch features a geometry with two contact points separated by a central valley. This shape guides the BB towards the center while applying the pressure necessary to create the hop-up effect.
In practice, the combination of this double support and the over-chambering limiting system aims to make the placement of each ball more consistent. Improved repeatability in this area directly contributes to more predictable trajectories.
Waldo Dynamics uses NBR rubber rather than a traditional silicone formulation. This material was chosen in particular for its mechanical resistance and durability, two desirable qualities for a seal that is regularly subjected to the stresses of BBs and the cycles of a GBB.
Its 65° hardness offers a compromise for versatile use. For configurations using heavier balls or a particularly large moving mass, Waldo Dynamics also offers a firmer 70° Crimson version.
The Crimson 65° version is recommended for BBs weighing between 0.28 and 0.40 g . It is therefore the versatile choice in the range for GBB configurations using medium to heavy BB weights.
The 70° version is better suited to BBs weighing 0.30 to 0.45 g and more, as well as configurations equipped with a particularly heavy or steel bolt. The choice therefore depends as much on the BB weight as on the replica's mechanical behavior.
The Crimson 65° has been tested on a wide selection of platforms: VFC AR/M4 EVO, AK, MP5, G36, G3, M249, PPSH and MP7 , as well as on VFC G-Series pistols.
The tests also covered numerous Tokyo Marui GBB pistols , including the G17, Hi-Capa, and USP, as well as the MWS M4. Additional tests included the APFG MCX, MPX, and XM7, the GHK M4/416, the Vipertech M4 equipped with a Meach Hop-Up chamber, and the Maruyama ISO-556.
The results can naturally vary depending on the platform, the mass of the moving assembly, the recoil spring, the weight of the balls, the ambient temperature, the energy sought and the pressure of the gas used.
The Crimson GBB Hop-Up Bucking 65° is particularly suited to BBs weighing between 0.28 and 0.40 g. For higher BB weights or very heavy moving assemblies, the 70° version may be preferred.
The Crimson 65° is the all-purpose version recommended for BBs weighing 0.28 to 0.40 g. The firmer Crimson 70° is better suited for BBs weighing 0.30 to 0.45 g and more, as well as GBBs equipped with a particularly large moving mass.
Over-chambering occurs when the nozzle pushes the BB slightly too far beyond the optimal hop-up patch position. The reinforced inlet of the Crimson is designed to minimize this phenomenon and promote more consistent BB placement.
