The British military rifle Enfield Pattern 1853 is a rifle musket (a single shot, one-shot, muzzle-loading, rifled cannon fired and fired by mercury fulminate capsules) produced by the Royal Arsenal of Enfield (and industrial subcontractors) between 1853 and 1867.
This model, also known as Enfield Pattern 1853 Rifle-Musket, Pattern 1853 Enfield, P53 Enfield, and Enfield Rifle-Musket is, like the rifles equipping several powers of the time, a derivative of the French Minie rifle of 1850. It replaces the famous Brown Bess musket and will be transformed into a Snider-Enfield shotgun rifle.
English historical weapon replica: enfield 3 band pattern 1853 rifle musket.
