Short version of the famous Colt revolver used by the confederates (Reb,s) and allowing to draw faster than the standard version.
The Colt 1860 Sheriff was a short version of the American Civil War military weapon used by shooters who wanted to be able to draw faster.
The Colt 1860 Army model differs mainly from the Colt 1851 by the carcass / barrel connection which also serves as a guide to the rammer. Subsequently, this revolver was much appreciated by cowboys for its reliability and low weight.
This type of black powder revolver, 6 shots in the parlance of westerns, is an ideal over-the-counter weapon for learning sport shooting.
