Armistol tan 120ml for Damascus steel

Damascus barrels are made of forged-welded iron and steel wire, which forms regular patterns on the barrels' surfaces.

Preliminary work: the pieces to be bronzed are finely polished, degreased and brushed after drying.

Tanning work: Wearing rubber gloves to avoid touching the parts to be tanned is recommended. Apply the first coat with a cotton pad, evenly and without excess. After 6 to 12 hours, depending on the nature of the metal, the room temperature and the humidity level, vigorously card the oxide that has formed (Jex pad, steel wool) and apply another coat of product.
Repeat the operation until you obtain the desired shade (6 to 10 coats).
At the end of treatment, immerse the part in cold water with 3 to 4 tablespoons of St Marc detergent (approximately 12 hours).
Rinse and oil with vaseline, linseed or polish oil.
If the barrel pattern is not sufficiently visible, dilute the product gradually with methylated spirits.
